How fast can my credit score improve?
It depends on what's hurting the score. With targeted rapid rescore strategies I typically get clients where they need to be in about 3 weeks. More complex situations — post-bankruptcy rebuilds, multiple collections, thin files — can take 30–90 days. We tell you the realistic timeline upfront.
Do I have to pay off all my collections to qualify?
Not always. FHA does not require medical collections to be paid. Non-medical collections under $2,000 cumulative may not require payoff depending on AUS findings. VA is very flexible. The strategy depends on your specific file and program — we build the plan around what's actually required, not what sounds safe.
Can I buy a home after bankruptcy?
Yes. FHA requires 2 years after Chapter 7 discharge and 1 year into a Chapter 13 plan with trustee approval. VA is similar. If you're approaching these timelines we start the credit rebuild now so you're ready to close the moment you're eligible.
What is a rapid rescore?
A rapid rescore is a process where your lender submits documentation directly to the credit bureaus to update your report within days instead of waiting 30–45 days for the standard reporting cycle. It's used when you've paid down a balance or resolved an account and need your score to reflect that quickly.
Will checking my credit hurt my score?
